INTERSTELLARCLOUDS
Welcome
By Seeta Persaud | March 26, 2021
Thank you for joining me on a journey through space and time. My photography journey began 7 years ago when I purchased a DSLR for wildlife birding. It wasn’t too long after that that I began portraiture and nature landscapes.
My love of astronomy began over 25 years ago when the first images from the Hubble Space Telescope were released. I’ll never forget the first time I saw Pillars of Creation. It still haunts and captivates the imagination.
I bought my first telescope 6 years ago, learned the night sky, and began dabbling in wide-angle and planetary DSLR astrophotography only last year.
I finally feel ready to embark on a journey into the outer limits of deep space using an equatorial mount and astro camera.
Astronomy and astrophotography are not only my passion but they are also two of my greatest teachers. Nothing has taught me more about humility, patience, and perspective.
In the coming weeks I plan to dive deeper into the science and the technology that I use to explore the cosmos and the nature of light.
Astronomy and astrophotography are not only my passion but they are also two of my greatest teachers. Nothing has taught me more about humility, patience, and perspective.
“The cosmos is all that is or ever was or ever will be. Our feeblest contemplations of the Cosmos stir us—there is a tingling in the spine, a catch in the voice, a faint sensation, as if a distant memory, or falling from a height. We know we are approaching the greatest of mysteries.”

Jupiter and Saturn Conjuction, December 21, 2020,

Jupiter and Saturn approach conjunction every 20 years, but this was their closest meeting in about 800 years.
“You can imagine the solar system to be a racetrack, with each of the planets as a runner in their own lane and the Earth toward the center of the stadium,” said Henry Throop, astronomer in the Planetary Science Division at NASA Headquarters in Washington. “From our vantage point, we’ll be able to be to see Jupiter on the inside lane, approaching Saturn all month and finally overtaking it on December 21.”
“The planets regularly appear to pass each other in the solar system, with the positions of Jupiter and Saturn being aligned in the sky about once every 20 years.
What makes this year’s spectacle so rare, then? It’s been nearly 400 years since the planets passed this close to each other in the sky, and nearly 800 years since the alignment of Saturn and Jupiter occurred at night, as it will for 2020, allowing nearly everyone around the world to witness this great conjunction.”

Adventures and Fun
Just a few photos from some of our adventures!
Welcome Spring 2023
After a long winter, spring is finally here! We have been really busy going for hikes, doing astronomy in the backyard, and just enjoying the earth waking up!
Where has the time gone?
Life has been incredibly busy! 2022 just went in a flash. I had a major surgery, celebrated my 10th birthday, and even went swimming. There’s a lot to chronicle but just wanted to say hi for now!
Andromeda, the Dog Galaxy?
I wonder if there are dogs in that galaxy simultaneously looking through a telescope at the Milky Way wondering if there are dogs in this galaxy too? Maybe Andromeda is run by dogs like in Planet of the Apes, except it would be Galaxy of the Dogs.
Late Summer / Early Fall
My mom captured an image of the Eagle Nebula with the Pillars of Creation. And I got to inspect a cool ancient tree stump at Letchworth.
Summer fun
By Mr. Cloud
Getting back to the really important stuff, we camped in the yard last weekend which was so much fun! My mom put a nice tri-tip on the smoker, made pancakes on the grill, and we had a campfire!
I am Mr. Cloud

Hi everyone! This is my first blog post ever. I am an 8 year old hound mix with the coolest paw-rents ever. I’m originally from St. Mary Parish in Louisiana. Although I miss my old family, I love my new family too. I’ve spent a whole year with them and they let me get on the furniture, run around the house and the yard, and hang out with the really cool neighbors.
